This are the varies from empty balcony at 7th floor, Taylor University becoming mini classroom and cafe bar through our design.
Our mini classroom and cafe bar will be covered by glasses roof so students no need worry about bad weather.
The designs for our group is The combination of mini classroom and cafe bar which is located at the Block E level 7, balcony. The reasons of thinking about this combination are students that studies at level 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 don't have nearer place to hang out as they always need to go to level 2 cafes for hanging out and it is so far away from level 5,6,7,8 and 9. In addition, it takes plenty of times to take the lift or stairs and it is much more convenient for students which study at higher floor. Sometimes the students are tired and suppose to find a place for rest and relax. One of the reason to get this designs to our mind is for students just to hang out or sitting down and chit-chat. They were always chatting by sitting or standing on the stairs when short break. However, they can hang out at the cafe when they have a short break while waiting for the another classes with this designs. Students also can purchase drinks in the bar at cafe. The mini bar has plenty of drinks, students always can get what they need. Beside that, there also have around 2 vending machines for student to buy mineral water and some soft drinks. And there is also a mini classroom where students can study, discuss or prepare their presentations. This place is comfortable because students can relax and release their pressure or stress about homework or exam. 20MB Unifi will be set there so students do anything through their laptop. For examples, playing games, finding information about assignments and many more. In addition, a glass roof will be built to cover the cafe bar and mini classroom, so students no need to worry about bad weather. There are also several reasons for us to choose these furniture. Some color is very common nowadays, but some cafes only have one color and not attractive. However, those chairs or sofas were chose in many kind of colors like purple, blue and red are kinda unique. Moreover, the design of them also a kind of attraction toward students. They will feel very special and like being in the heaven at our cafes. ( These furniture as shown below will be set at the mini classroom. )
The cafe are located at Block E level 7 beside classroom E7.18, there are a empty space that why we designed about this space for student to relax or reduce stress and study. Nowadays, students always feel stress about homework and exam. The cafe's design could help students on releasing pressure due to studies as students feel pressure while studying especially facing some tough question. Furthermore, there also had beautiful views to watch and fresh air from the nature, so students from Taylor University can enjoy their food there. If students feel hungry, this cafe is most suitable for them. There are a lot of facilities, for example, a minibar, sofas, tables, TVs and vending machines. During students' break time, they can go to this cafe while waiting for next classes. However, some students prefer to watch TV while waiting for next class, and inside our cafe have TVs using SAMSUNG HD and a lot of channels in ASTRO. Students can really enjoy watching their favorite channels in ASTRO. When students watching TV, there have 2 comfortable sofas and 1 vending machine for soft drinks and mineral waters beside the sofa. Moreover, if students want to do their homework, they can go to mini classroom which is beside the cafe or stay at this cafe because there have around 6 mini tables for students at the center. There also had a mini bar just right in front of the mini tables. And 10 bar stools will be seated there for students enjoy their drinks while sitting. There are a lot of drinks and students can choose their own favorite flavors at the mini bar. There also has one important facility which is air conditioner. It can make the cafe more comfortable and not being hot. In short, many student will like this cafe and it will becoming a place like "happy heaven" in Taylor University. ( These furniture and mini bar as shown below will be set at the cafe bar. )
In addition, a mini classroom will be located just beside the cafe but it is totally covered up so won't get disturbed by the noise from cafe. One major reason for designing a mini classroom is we didn't have sufficient classroom in Taylor University. Even though it is a big university there is not enough classroom space. Students can always visit our mini classroom and study or do some revision at the mini classroom. Moreover, they also can do some research or finding information at the internet and 20Mb wifi will be set at there since our university's internet line is quite slow due many students were using. However, some facilities like sofa chairs will be seated at there so students can relax and discuss about anything with it. In addition, an air-conditioner will be set at the mini classroom but won't be too cold as some students can't endure at low temperature. However, there also has a white board and the size is smaller than normal classroom. Projector and projector slide also will be set there, some students can practice their presentation at there or can just discuss about their assignments by the projector. Students also can book the mini classroom at anytime but must make sure it is clean before leaving it. And a vending machine will be set at there so students can purchase their drinks if they want to. To sum up, the mini classroom is an extra classroom for other students to study when they didn't have any place to study and convenient for students at level 5,6,7,8 because level 1 or level 2 is far away from there, since they need to buy drinks if study at cafe. In conclusion, the combination of mini classroom and cafe bar will help students a lot. And it also won't spoil Taylor's image as it is a decent cafe. In my point of view, it really helps release students' stress, students can really enjoy or even dating at the cafe. There also had nice view to enjoy. Actually there was a good space but it is empty, if using this design of combination of mini classroom and cafe, students can get a lot benefits and the main point is fully utilize the empty space at Taylor University.
